What is somatics?
Somatics (from the Greek σῶμα (sôma), meaning "body") is an approach to learning (found in practices both modern and ancient) that prioritises awareness and sensation over the attainment of external form and aesthetic.
By exploring practices that give us the freedom to move from a space of feeling and curiosity, we can learn to value our inner experience, start to hear and trust our intuitions and so liberate genuine expression and creativity.
Form and method then become gateways to the gradual discovery and embodiment of principles, which over time free us from dependence on given structures, liberating improvisation and embodied flow.

There are two sets of Guidelines available for touch based events hosted by Moving Stillness. One for Thai massage and the other for Contact Improvisation. Please read and be familiar with them before attending events.
Recent events feedback:
Justin has a great calm, and gentle presence when teaching. His touch is measured and strong with an ability to tune in very deeply to the recipient. This being my first Thai massage mini course I found it amazing and am keen to learn more. Justin's focus on presence of touch mixed with his deep knowledge of technique really resonated with me and the way in which I learn. I highly recommend a course with Justin!
